This dress, though an original Doll Clothes of Yore design, is similar to what might have been worn by women during the 1940’s. The ‘Hawaiian’ print fabric was very popular during this time, but was not usually featured in dresses. The traditional Hawaiian ‘Aloha’ shirt originated during World War II. A local shop owner on the islands designed the original shirts and sold them to tourists. The shirts and design reached their peak of popularity after the war and are still popular summer wear today.
